Howard “Buddy” L. Spencer, Sr., 70, of Westminster, Maryland, died on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at his home.
Born September 20, 1946 in Gamber, Maryland, he was the son of the late Howard F. Spencer and Dorothy (Crawford) Spencer. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Darlene K. (McCauley) Spencer.
Howard was a graduate of Westminster High School Class of 1964, and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was a mechanic with Fisher Tire in Westminster for 35 years. Buddy loved boating, hunting, gun collecting, and spending time with his grandchildren and pet dogs.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Lee Anne K. Spencer of Manchester, MD; step-daughters, Angel C. Pheabus and husband Timothy of Hampstead, MD, Laura M. Braun of Elkton, MD, and Amy B. Farkas and husband Joshua of Westminster; step-son, John A. Braun III and wife Angela of Manchester, MD; sister, Mary E. Winn of Salisbury, MD; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Howard L. Spencer, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the funeral home. A reception will follow the service at the F.O.P. Lodge, 359 Manchester Rd., Westminster. Interment will be private.
