Howard Otis Sutch, 84, of Fairfield, PA died peacefully at his home Sunday, July 29, 2012. Born November 15, 1927 in Owings Mills, MD, he was the son of the late Howard W. and Nellie Fisher Sutch. He was the husband of Karen A. Osman Sutch, to whom he was married 44 years.


Howard was Purchasing Manager for Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Sykesville, Maryland. He worked with the company for more than thirty years. He served in the United States Navy and was a WWII veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 121 in Emmitsburg, MD and Ionic Lodge No. 145, AF&AM in Reisterstown, MD. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Colts and Baltimore Ravens. He enjoyed playing golf, raising hybrid roses, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Howard O. Sutch, Jr. and wife, Margie, of Apopka, FL, Lee W. Sutch and wife, Michelle, of Carroll Valley, PA, and David H. Sutch and wife, Michelle, of Brookfield, MO; 3 sisters, Gladys Seidlich of Sykesville, MD, Fay Rauser and husband, Paul, of Halethorpe, MD, and Jerri Lawrence of Finksburg, MD; 2 brothers, Emory Sutch and wife, Asdell, of Ocean City, MD, and Jeff Sutch of Reisterstown, MD; 3 grandchildren, Michael, Kyan, and Kierstyn Sutch; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly Bailey Sutch and a son, Michael Sutch.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD with Chaplain Dan Summers of Lutheran Home Care & Hospice officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
