Hilda “Tillie” C. Eckard, age 66, of Hanover, PA, died on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Hanover General Hospital.
Born October 16, 1941 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Stem) Coppersmith. She was the wife of 49 years to Larry B. Eckard.
Mrs. Eckard was currently retired and working part-time at Koony’s Barn in Littlestown, PA. She enjoyed playing BINGO, attending flea markets and craft shows, and snowmobiling. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her children, their spouses and grandchildren; Kenneth M. and Janie A.C. Eckard, and children, Aimee, and Dylan Eckard, of Hanover, PA, Douglas and Jennifer Eckard, and children, Julianna, and Christopher Eckard of Wyandotte, Michigan, Pamela and Mark Nicol, and children, Jacob, Taylor and Alek Nicol, of Hanover, PA, and Bonnie Eckard-Davis and Daniel Davis, Jr. of Littlestown, PA.
Also surviving are siblings, Francis, Donald, James, Arthur, Kenneth, and Perry Coppersmith, Lillian Spicer, and Esther McComas, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by siblings, Raymond Coppersmith, Jr., Larue Troyer, Martha Sheets, and Madeline Cudney.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at St. Benjamin’s (Kriders) Lutheran Cemetery in Westminster. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 23rd from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray final expenses.
