Herbert Henry Click, Sr., age 81, of Emmitsburg, Maryland died on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at St. Catherine’s Nursing Center in Emmitsburg.
Born May 12, 1929 in Carroll County, Maryland he was the son of the late Earl N. and Mary Click. He was predeceased by his wife, Edith (Wills) Click in 1997.
Herb was a life member of the Emmitsburg Memorial V.F.W. Post 6658, the American Legion Francis X. Elder Post 121 Emmitsburg, the AMVETS Post 172 Fairfield, PA, and the Vigilant Hose Company Emmitsburg. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. Herb was a fuel truck driver until his retirement.
Surviving are children, Nancy Sweeney and husband Clifford of Thurmont, Herbert Click, Jr. and wife Bobbie Jean of Emmitsburg, Linda Wantz and husband Steven, Sr., of Emmitsburg, Richard Click, Sr. of Walkersville, and James Click and wife Tiffany of Emmitsburg; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 7, 2011 from 6-9 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 West Main St., Emmitsburg, MD. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, March 8th at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the New St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Emmitsburg.
