Helene Novotny, age 92, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Carroll Lutheran Village Health Care Center.
She was born on May 15, 1921 in Altensteig, Germany, and was the daughter of the late Ernst and Anna Marie (Pfeifle) Roh. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 42 years, Frank Joseph Novotny, Sr. in 1992.
Helene was a member of St. Luke’s (Winters) Lutheran Church in New Windsor and was active in the church R & R group.
Surviving are son, Frank J. Novotny, Jr. and wife Deborah of Westminster; daughter, Anne Crouch and husband Roger of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren, Kristin DeVincent and husband Edward, Timothy Novotny and wife Stacy, and Kimberly Collins and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Hannah DeVincent, and Braedyn Novotny; brother, John Roh of Va.
She was predeceased by a sister, Erna Moore.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at St. Luke’s (Winters) Lutheran Church, 701 Green Valley Rd., Rt. 75 in New Windsor with her pastor the Rev. Anne C. Durboraw officiating. Interment will follow in Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore.
