Helena B. Bierkamp, 95, of Taneytown died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster following a brief illness.
Born May 19, 1913 in Harney, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Florence Staub Null. She was the wife of the late Charles Bierkamp who died July 23, 1983.
She was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church in Taneytown. She owned & operated the Charlene Shop in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
Surviving are nieces Genevieve Feeser, Margaret Sentz, and Joyce Shoemaker all of Taneytown, and three additional generations of great-nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Pauline Null Yealy and husband David.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 9 at Messiah United Methodist Church, 25 Middle St., Taneytown with the Rev. Art Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Taneytown.
The family will received friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Monday.
