Helen Jean Price, age 76, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 23, 2009 at St. Catherine’s Nursing Center in Emmitsburg, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born February 9, 1933 in Taneytown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Blanche (Feeser) Lawrence. She was the wife of 56 years to Billy Ray Price.
Helen loved gardening, flowers especially roses, cooking and canning foods. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are children, Janie Wachter and husband Bill of Thurmont, Md., Linda Brandenburg and husband Rick of Frederick, Md., and Walter Price and wife Chrissy of Emmitsburg, Md.; grandchildren, Jason, Amy, and Tiffany Wachter, Kasey and Paige Price; a great-grandson, Daniel Wachter; sisters, Doris Albaugh of Emmitsburg, Md., Peggy Lawrence, of Stewartstown, Pa.; a brother, Allen Lawrence of Emmitsburg, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Brian Wachter, sisters, Violet Long, Betty Yeager, Darlene Wachter, and Gladys Gladhill; and by brothers, Jim, Norman, and Bob Lawrence.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, Maryalnd, with the Rev. Gary Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, Md. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 PM and again on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
