Helen Percich, 96, of Keymar, Maryland, formerly of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, died peacefully on January 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Lorien Taneytown.
Born on August 27, 1928, in Warren, Ohio to Ralph and Milka ‘Mildred’ Petkovich, Helen was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She grew up in Warren, Ohio and graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1946. In May 1948, she married her cherished husband, Vincent Anthony Percich and converted to the Roman Catholic faith from the Serbian Orthodox faith. Together they left Warren, Ohio for opportunity in northeast Ohio, living in Stow, Ohio, then moving in 1954 to their permanent residence for 46 years in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Deeply devoted to her family, she raised three children: Diana, Mark, and David as traditional Roman Catholics. She returned to school and in 1974 earned a Bachelor of Arts in Home Economics from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. She worked as a seamstress, a florist, a sales person, a Mary Kay consultant, and as a real estate agent.
Despite experiencing several tragic losses in her life, her devotion to her faith only grew stronger. She prayed the Rosary daily and faithfully attended Mass every Sunday and on Holy Days of Obligations. A talented, artistic, and creative person, Helen loved reading, learning, and teaching. She was passionate in all things she did, such as: being a vegetarian, experimenting with healthy cooking, quilting, Ikebana, drawing, and journaling.
Helen is survived by her children, Diana Marie Greig of Keymar, Maryland, daughter-in-law Patricia Ann Percich of Keymar, Maryland, and David Michael Percich (Kathie Marie Percich) of Owings, Maryland; six grandchildren Arthur Vincent Grieg of East Lansing, Michigan, Jennifer Lynn Ebberts of Keymar, Maryland, Aaron Matthew Percich (Michelle Lee Percich) of Hollywood, Maryland, Lance Michael Percich of Owings, Maryland, Brittany Nichole Percich of Baltimore, Maryland, and Alison Mae Percich of Washington, District of Columbia; and three great grandchildren Fianna Thérèse Percich, Xavier Mark Percich, and Marie-Azélie Percich all of Hollywood, Maryland.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Vincent Anthony Percich, son Mark Elliot Percich, and infant son Joseph Percich, sister Ruby Viviani, brother in-law Carl Viviani, and brothers Judge Samuel Petkovich, Eli Petkovich, and George Petkovich.
