Helen Katherine McNair, 84, of Westminster, Maryland, formerly of Taneytown, died peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Westminster Healthcare Center.
Born on September 10, 1936, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Lily Jameson. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert McNair.
Helen was well known for her work with the American Legion. She spent years working in the Ladies Auxillary and enjoyed finding ways to give back to the community. She worked for the Lion Brothers Company, was a cook at Fitzgerald’s Restaurant, and a seamstress at the Taneytown Sewing Factory. She was also a member of the Forest and Stream Club.
Surviving are daughter, Melinda Eyler of Taneytown, and grandsons, Jeffrey and Jason Eyler; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Laryssa and Jason, Jr.; sisters, Esther and Anna May. She was predeceased by sons, Robert and Mike McNair.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Rev. Virgil Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Grace UCC Cemetery in Taneytown. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
