Helen Elizabeth Heltibridle, age 86, of Taneytown, Maryland died peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taneytown.
Born June 5, 1923 in Fairfield, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Shorb) Starner. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Richard Heltibridle, in 1996.
She was a nursing assistant at Carroll Hospital Center for 27 years, retiring in 1991. She was a 1941 graduate of Emmitsburg High School and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Hesson Snyder American Legion Post #120 in Taneytown. She was a member of Emmanuel (Baust) United Church of Christ in Tyrone and also attended Elias Lutheran Church in Emmitsburg.
She enjoyed reading her Bible and word search puzzles.
Surviving is son Daniel Heltibridle and wife Betty of Taneytown; grandchildren, Lori Johnson, Debra Simms, Steve Weller & Daniel Weller; and great grandson, Troy Green.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by daughter JoAnn Heltibridle; brother, George Starner; sisters, Betty Gonder, Ann Crawford and Mary Glass.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 22 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Pastor Gerald D. Fuss officiating. Interment will follow in Keysville Union Cemetery in Keysville, Maryland. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
