Hazel Marie (Keilholtz) Stonesifer

February 24, 1932 — January 13, 2015

Hazel Marie Stonesifer, 82, of Keysville died peacefully Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.  Born February 24, 1932 in Emmitsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Edith (Valentine) Keilholtz.  She was the wife of Charles L. Stonesifer, to whom she was married for 64 years.

Hazel worked alongside her husband Charles on the family farm as well as being a bank teller for more than thirty years.  She was a devoted housewife and mother.  She was a life-long member of Keysville Grace United Church of Christ, and was still active in the Keysville-Detour Homemakers Club, which she joined in 1960.  She enjoyed vegetable gardening, farm life, spending time with family and friends, and attending social gatherings.

In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived by daughter, Kathy York and husband Jay of Cody, Wyoming; son, Kevin Stonesifer and wife Michele of Keysville; daughter, Kimberly Wright and husband Dan of New Windsor; grandchildren, Jessica Stonesifer and fiancé Doug Brown of Westminster, and Christopher Stonesifer of Keysville; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by infant daughter, Debra Marie Stonesifer, and siblings, Dorothy Knipple, Merle Keilholtz, Novella Dinterman, Anna Law, and Raymond, Vernon, and Ralph Keilholtz.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at Keysville Grace United Church of Christ, 2060 Keysville-Bruceville Rd, Keymar, MD with the Rev. John Silassy and the Rev. Lloyd Fuss officiating.  Interment will follow in Keysville Union Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD.
