Hazel Irene (Null) Luckenbaugh, 96, of Hagerstown died at NMS Healthcare in Hagerstown, Maryland on Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
Born August 20, 1913 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Greenberry and Margaret (Little) Null. She was the wife of the late Luther T. Luckenbaugh who died in 1978.
Hazel worked most of her life at Borenstein and Sons Clothing Factory in Taneytown as a seamstress.
She was a long time member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown. While there she belonged to women’s groups and taught Sunday School from many years.
She is survived by daughter H. Jean Japzon of Hagerstown; grandson R. Anthony Japzon of Baltimore; granddaughters Dr. Debra Japzon Gillum of Fayetteville, N.C. and Marisa Japzon Kenney of Hagerstown; and great- grandchildren Miriah and Giselle Garnett of Hagerstown, Austin and Erin Gillum of Fayetteville, N.C., Armani Kenny of Hagerstown, Ysabella Japzon of Baltimore.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Blanche Null Hughes, and brothers Walter S. and Clare W. Null.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown with Pastors Josh and Rachel Semovoski co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
