Harry Sterling Yingling, Jr., 71, of Westminster, MD passed away peacefully on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born January 26, 1947 in Carroll County, MD, he was the son of the late Harry Sterling Yingling, Sr. and Dorothy (Strine) Yingling. He was the husband of Patricia (Petry) Yingling, to whom he was married for almost 48 years.
Harry was co-owner and operator of Petry’s Junkyard, Inc. in Westminster for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and collecting cars, especially Corvettes. He loved spending time with his friends and his dogs, Puffy and Kyla, and going out to eat with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Patricia, are sons, David Yingling and wife Wendy, and Eddie Yingling and wife Shelly, all of Westminster; grandsons, Tyler Yingling and fiancé Amber Dorsey of Littlestown, PA, and Devin and Mya Yingling of Westminster; sisters, Daisy Petry of Taneytown, and Elsie Stephan and husband Wayne of Westminster; brother, Robert Yingling and wife Martha “Sis” of Westminster; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, George Wike, Sr. and John Wike; and sister, Betty Muller.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster with Pastor Dave Meador officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. There will be no burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harry’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
