Harry Eugene Ebaugh, Sr., age 85 of Westminster, died Wednesday May 11, 2011 at his home. He was born October 14, 1925 in Carroll County the son of the late John Benton Sr. and Rosie Wagner Ebaugh and was baptized at the Westminster Church of the Brethren. He was the husband of Dorothy L. Lippy Ebaugh, his wife of 65 years. Harry worked in the maintenance department at Western Maryland College which is now McDaniel College. In his earlier days, he played guitar in a band called “The Covered Wagon Boys. Harry enjoyed music, carpentry and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Harry Eugene Ebaugh, Jr. of Finksburg and Patricia “Pat” Knight and her husband, Bobby of Westminster, granddaughter, Jamie Melissa Ebaugh of Finksburg, great grandchildren, Aeryelle and Atreyu Andrews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, John Sterling Ebaugh, Irvin Ebaugh, Robert “Bobby” Ebaugh, Benton Levine Ebaugh and sister, Dorothy Long.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Rev. Mindy Coates officiating.
Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery, Westminster.
The family will receive friends Friday 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
