Harry Thomas Adams, age 76, lifelong resident of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Born January 17, 1936 in Emmitsburg, MD, he was the son of the late Norman D. Adams, Sr. and Helen E. (Snyder) Adams. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Beverly “Bev” (Davis) Adams.
Harry was a graduate of Emmitsburg High School, and worked for many years as a human development associate with the State of Maryland at the Victor Cullen Center. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Emmitsburg and an honorary life member of the Vigilant Hose Company in Emmitsburg. He enjoyed deer hunting, wood carving, spending time at the beach with family, and especially watching his granddaughter Michaela play softball and basketball.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Beth Persinger and husband Wayne of Emmitsburg; granddaughter, Michaela Persinger; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Janet Newcomer and by brothers, David and Bill Adams.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, on Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Emmitsburg with the Rev. Stephen Trzecieski, C.M. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the New St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD, with prayers at 8 PM.
