Harold Stonesifer Bollinger, Sr.

Harold Stonesifer Bollinger, Sr., age 97, of Woodsboro, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick.
Born July 5, 1916, in the Emmitsburg, Maryland area, he was the oldest of twelve children, the son of the late Allen Edward and Emma Louisa Stonesifer Bollinger.  He was the husband of the late Margaret Ellen Colson Bollinger.
Mr. Bollinger was a member of the Lutheran Church in Rocky Ridge.  He was formerly employed as a farmer, a truck driver, worked as a carpenter for several companies in Taneytown, Baltimore, Hagerstown areas and then as maintenance man for Parkview Apartments in Frederick.  He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 101, and a past member of the Rocky Ridge Fire Company.
Surviving are three children, Nancy Dunaway and husband Bennie Joe of New Brockton, AL, Harold S. Bollinger, Jr. and wife Anita of Thurmont, and Randy J. Bollinger and wife Eva Jean of Woodsboro; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred (Dennis) Wallick of Hanover, PA, Gladys Bell of Taneytown, Lucy Eyler of AL; six brothers, Paul Bollinger of Baltimore, Allen Bollinger of IL, Ivan Bollinger of Gettysburg, Joseph Bollinger of N.C., Roy Bollinger of PA, and Arvin Bollinger of Taneytown.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bollinger was preceded in death by a son, John L. Bollinger; a brother, William Robert Bollinger; and a sister, Doris Ellen Rock.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, with Pastor Linda Lambert of Thurmont Church of the Brethren officiating.  Interment will follow in the Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery in Emmitsburg, MD.  The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be; Wally Bishop, Thomas Kruger, C. Richard Lenhart, Jr., Drew Lenhart, James Triantis and Nickolas Triantis.  Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons Brandon Bollinger and Alex Triantis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, c/o: Lois Late, 507 Gateway Drive, West, Thurmont, Maryland  21788.
