Gwendolyn Teresa Zill, 92, a resident of Michaux Manor in Fayettesville, PA, and formerly of Emmitsburg, MD, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 21, 1922 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George and Clair (Green) Hunnicutt. She was the wife of Bernard Zill, to whom she was married for 67 years.
Gwen was employed as a nurse’s aide at Johns Hopkins Hospital for a time when she was very young. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed dancing and was trained as a tap dancer. She also enjoyed cats and spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband Bernard are daughters, Joann Weller and husband Kerry of Waynesboro, PA, and Diane and Bernice Zill, both of Baltimore; daughter-in-law, Trudy Zill, of Red Lion, PA; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Charles and Eric Zill.
A memorial service to celebrate Gwen’s life will be announced at a later time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg.
