Grover L. Stansbury, age 83, of Keymar, Maryland died on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Glade Valley Nursing Center in Walkersville.
Born July 24, 1931 in Gettysburg, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Hannah E. (Wilson) Stansbury. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn (Wolfe) Stansbury.
Grover worked as a tool and die maker for Frederick Tool & Die and later retired from Metlfab Co. in Frederick. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Emmitsburg. Grover enjoyed gardening, attending auctions, and tinkering around in his work shop. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and friends.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Robin Stansbury of Keymar; grandchildren, Jessica Andrews and husband Brandon, Wade and Kyle Stansbury; great-grandson, Mason Andrews; sisters, Bertha Miller and husband Junior of Silver Run, and Mary Underwood of Walkersville. He was predeceased by brothers, Howard and Clifford Stansbury.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Colin A. Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Keysville Union Cemetery.
