Gregory Crissey Dash, 73, of Clinton, MD, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 12, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Taneytown, MD. Born November 11, 1944 in Ranger, TX, he was the son of the late Abraham Allen and Barbara Inez (Crissey) Dash.
Greg was an accomplished mechanic. He owned and operated Dash Enterprises in Clinton, MD. He was a proud, decorated veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War, where he earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed recreational flying for many years. He was always standing by with a willing spirit to help people, especially with mechanical repairs.
Surviving are daughter, Meghan Valenti and husband Daniel of Taneytown; brother, Frank Dash and wife Miriam of Bowie, MD; grandson Gunnar James Valenti; niece, Barbara Grace Dash; and nephew, Michael Christopher Dash. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael Dash.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD with the Rev. Isaac Karoor as celebrant. Burial will be Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 19th at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Greg’s name may be made to Disabled American Veterans, VARO Federal Building, Rm 1229, 31 Hopkins Plaza, Baltimore ,MD 21201.
