Grace Elizabeth "Lib" Strine

Grace Elizabeth “Lib” Strine, age 90, of New Windsor, Maryland, died peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2013 at St. Catherine’s Nursing Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland, after declining health.
Born October 26, 1923 in Medford, Carroll County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John Calvin Strine and Viola Cashman Strine.
She was a member of the Edgewood Church of the Brethren near New Windsor, where she served in many offices including secretary and treasurer, and was a member of the Women’s Fellowship.  She graduated from New Windsor High School, and was previously employed at Cambridge Rubber Company, Taneytown; Newman Press, Westminster; and Carroll Petroleum, Westminster.  She clerked in the family grocery store J.C. Strine & Sons, New Windsor for many years.  She retired from New Windsor State Bank where she was an administrative clerk for many years.  She was a member of the New Windsor Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary participating in their Drill Team for many years.
Surviving are nephews and nieces, Lanny Harchenhorn of New Windsor, Linda Bostian of Taneytown, Terry Harchenhorn of Middleburg, Lee Strine of Tyrone, Drew Strine of New Windsor, Bruce Strine of Westminster, Sherry Norfleet of Southern Maryland, and Wayne Strine of Westminster; and special great-nephew, John Harchenhorn of New Windsor; and several other great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Harchenhorn; brothers Calvin, Raymond, and Donald Strine; nephews, Eugene and Barry Strine, and John Strine, III; and great-nephew, Nicholas Harchenhorn.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster with Rev. Paul Leatherman and Rev. Bruce Weaver officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pipe Creek Cemetery near Linwood.
