Grace Virginia Putman

Grace Virginia Putman, age 92, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
Born December 23, 1918 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Howard E. and Florence V. (Harnish) Hyser. She was the wife of the late Thurston E. Putman, who died in April 1989.
Grace was employed at Cambridge Rubber Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1966. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and Sunday School in Taneytown; a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Taneytown Fire Co.; a member of the Republican Women’s Club; a member of the Hesson Snider Post 120 of the American Legion; and the Pythian Sisters, state of MD.
Surviving her is a son, Ronnie Putman of Taneytown; grandsons, Timothy Putman and wife Barbara of Prescott Valley, AZ, and Keith Putman and wife Debbie of Huntsville, Ar. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Wayne Putman in May 1998; and a sister, Odetta Neuman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore St., Taneytown with her pastors the Rev. Josh Semovoski and Rev. Rachel Semovoski co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Grace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
