Gordon Vincent Horrell, age 65, of Finksburg, Maryland, died on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Carroll Hospital Center.
Born on February 4, 1949 in New Kensington, PA, he was the son of the late John A. and Clara (Cochran) Horrell. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane L. (Edrington) Horrell.
Gordon was retired after 17 years as a software engineer with ADP auto dealer services division. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing, and trap shooting. He was a creative genius and inventor and was well known as a go to guy for getting projects done. Gordon was a musician who built guitars, enjoyed working with leather and photography. He was a wonderful and devoted father, and enjoyed time with his nieces and nephews.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Gordon V. Horrell, Jr. and wife Shannon of Hanover, PA, Eric M. Horrell and companion Jen Kolberg of Felton, PA; grandsons, Chris and Jake Ryder; sister, Coleene Novak of Indiana; sister-in-law, Karen Horrell of Hanover, PA. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and extended loving family.
He was predeceased by a brother, Johnny R. Horrell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St, Westminster, MD with Pastor John Stiles officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
