Gordon M. Caples, 84, of New Windsor, Maryland, formerly of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017 at his daughter’s home.
Born January 6, 1933 near Gamber, Maryland, he was the son of the late Clarence and Ethel (McQuay) Caples. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Anne (Haines) Caples in 2013.
Gordon was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He worked as an electrical contractor with JE Shaefer Co. for many years. He was a life-member of the Carrollton Hounds Hunt Club; and was an avid horseman and fox hunter. The family would like to express its thanks to all of the nurses and staff of Carroll Hospice for the wonderful care.
Surviving are daughter, Kim Arbaugh and husband Bob of New Windsor, MD; son, Jeffrey Caples and wife Kelly of Hampstead; grandchildren, Darrin Arbaugh and fiancée Cheryl Williams, Kristin Athey and husband Tyler, Jacob and Benjamin Caples.
A private graveside service will be held at Garrison Forest Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills, MD. Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Westminster.
