Gloria Ann Baile

Gloria Ann Baile, age 83, of Taneytown, MD, died at York Hospital, York PA, on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Born February 7, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Barbara (Bayer) Kanely. She was the loving wife of Merle Harrison, Baile, Jr., for 60 years. They would have celebrated their 61st anniversary on October 13th.

Gloria Ann graduated from Kenwood Senior High School in 1958. She was active in the drama department and was a member of the International Thespians Society. She was a talented actress and vocalist. She sang on Television show The Candy Corner as a child.

In her younger years she was a Candy Striper at her local hospital, eventually becoming a Xray Technician. She also worked as a rental office manager for different management companies. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and many other activities.

Besides her husband Merle, she is survived by her daughters, Laura Ann Baile of Taneytown, and Kimberly Ann Baile of Essex; granddaughter, Krystle Mulay of Frederick; great-granddaughters, Alice and Aspen Mulay; brother, Richard James Kanely and Eileen; nephews, Richard J. Kanely, Jr., and Robert Kanely and wife Dusty; many great-nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Joyce Diane Baile and Sandra Gear and grand dog, Sally.

She was predeceased by brother, Charles “Buck” Kanely and her mother and father-in-law, Merle Harrison Baile, Sr. and Odessa Rhonda Hancock Baile.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 12 p.m. at Pipe Creek Cemetery with Rev. Virgil Cain officiating.
