Gloria Frances Schwing, age 83, of Westminster, Maryland, died on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born April 12, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Rick and Elizabeth (Applebee) Porter.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 61 years, Charles “Jerry” G. Schwing, Sr.; son, Charles G. Schwing, Jr. and wife Janice of Westminster; grandchildren, Rose Praydis, Charles G. Schwing, III, and Christopher A. Schwing; great-grandsons, Dominic and Tristan; sisters, Teresa Thomas and Dawn Schaefer. She was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Fritzeinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster. Private inurnment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery Columbarium. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD.
