Longtime resident of Sunnybrook in Westminster Maryland, Gloria R. Hogarty leaves behind many friends and family members.
She courageously fought numerous illnesses as she continued her concern for others.
Born July 29, 1932 to Molly A Phillips, Gloria was the eldest to four siblings, Marlyn, Sonny, Ronnie and Sharon.
She married James Hogarty and together they had six children; Kathy, Barbara, Jimmy, Kevin, Timothy and Laurie.
Her greatest love has always been her family which makes up 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends.
After retiring from Felmor Corporation in Baltimore, she relocated to Westminster. She became active in the Red Hat Society where she founded the Westminster Chapter and reigned as “Queen Gloria”.
The family appreciates the love, care and support provided by Carroll Lutheran Village where Gloria spent her final days, enjoying family and friends daily visits, playing bingo, crafts and the entertainment provided there.
Her family will receive visitors on Saturday September 7th between 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis Street Westminster, MD 21157 (410)848-3933. A Celebration of Life ceremony is scheduled for Sunday September 8th from 1 – 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside burial will be held on Monday, September 9th where the family will meet at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5829 Richie Highway, Baltimore, MD 21225 (410)789-0150.
