Gladys M. Dukehart, age 93, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully surrounded by family, on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at her residence.
Born July 7, 1922 in Silver Run, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Gruver J. Morelock and Bertie M. (Koontz) Morelock. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond J. Dukehart.
Gladys worked for Baltimore Gas and Electric for 43 years. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan and loved going to see them each year on her birthday and seeing her Orioles birthday wish on the centerfield scoreboard. She enjoyed spending time with family and spoiling her nieces and nephews. She had been a member of Emmanuel (Baust) United Church of Christ where she was very active for many years.
She is survived by her sister, Betty M. Lacy of Germantown, MD; her nephew, Mike Lacy and his wife Sue and daughters, Jennifer and Stephanie of Germantown, MD; her niece, Debbie Crowell and her husband Tom of Mansfield, MA; her niece Dotty Waddell of Bethany Beach, DE and her sons Jerry, Jay, Jody and Jed; and her niece Carol Patterson of Port Hope, ON. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, T. Allen Morelock and J. Ralph Morelock, and by her nephew Bill Morelock.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeffry Dull officiating. Burial will follow in Emmanuel (Baust) Church Cemetery in Tyrone, MD.
