Gertrude "Trudy" Siemer

Gertrude L. “Trudy” Siemer, age 76, of Taneytown, MD, died Monday, July 1, 2024 at her son’s home in North Carolina. Born January 26, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Matthias and Rosina M. Beutgen.   Trudy was married to the late Lou Siemer for over 50 years.

Trudy worked in computer programming for the state of Maryland for over 30 years. She was strong in her faith and was a devoted mother to her children and four legged grandkids. In her free time, she enjoyed puzzling, card games, traveling, and needle work. Trudy was also known as the family’s resource for all game rules, birth dates, and anniversaries.

Trudy is survived by her son, Matt Siemer and wife Caroline; daughter, Gail Siemer, all of Fuquay Varina, NC; sister, Rose Wolf, sister-in-law, Pat Siemer; and numerous nieces and nephews.   Trudy is predeceased by her brother, John Beutgen.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Taneytown. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mount View Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104tg
