Gerald Rodney Keeney, age 62, of Taneytown, Md., died suddenly on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at his home.
Born March 8, 1946 in Keysville, Md., he was the son of the late D. Luther and Mabel (Clabaugh) Keeney. He was the husband of 18 years to Debbie Ann Keeney.
Mr. Keeney was a graduate of Taneytown High School. In the 1970’s he owned and operated Modulation Headquarters, and was currently employed at Flow Serve in Taneytown, as a maintenance facilitator for the past 35 years. He was a member of Keysville Evangelical Lutheran Church in Keymar, and a member of various gun clubs, where he volunteered a lot of his time. He was an instructor of a hunter safety course, and an avid trap, skeet, and sporting clay shooter. Gerald loved cooking, electronics and the latest gadgets.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are daughter, Laryssa Keeney of Casselberry, Florida; sister and spouse, Sylvia and Fred Haney, of Elizabeth City, NC; brother-in-law, Michael N. Bollinger of Keysville, Md.
Also surviving are special friend, Theda L. Merson of Taneytown, Md., and many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a sister, Gloria Bollinger.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Keysville Union Cemetery in Keymar, Md. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
