George Minor Shifflett

George Minor Shifflett, 83, of Taneytown, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the Dove House in Westminster, surrounded by family. Born October 18, 1939, he was the son of the late George Minor Shifflett and Virginia Louise Shifflett, nee Wood. He was the loving husband to Jeanie E. Shifflett.

He worked for Eastalco for 30 years as a crane operator. He also worked at Cambridge Rubber Factory in Taneytown and Hanover Shoe Company. He enjoyed Gunsmoke, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Washington Redskins; and spending time with his grandsons.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Sharon Kline and husband Dale of Westminster, and George Shifflett and wife Joy of Littlestown; grandchildren, Dale, Jr., Joshua, and Samuel Kline, George Thomas, Benjamin, Todd, and Kurtis Shifflett; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings Betty Graybill of Taneytown and Elizabeth Keefer of Westminster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12 NOON on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 136 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown, Maryland 21787, with a funeral service beginning at 12 NOON with Pastor Dale Kline, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Grace UCC Cemetery in Taneytown.
