George Allan Schmidler

George Allan Schmidler, age 70, of Beverly Hills, Florida, died on Friday morning March 5, 2010 at the home of his daughter in Taneytown, Maryland.
Born January 25, 1940 in Marysville, Kansas, he was the son of the late Carl and Mary (Cooper) Schmidler. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna L. (Cumro) Schmidler.
George attended St. Gregory’s Catholic School and later graduated from Marysville High School, class of 1958. He worked in Omaha, Nebraska for US Cold Storage, then later in Mt. Airy, Maryland for Mt. Airy Cold Storage. He owned and operated George’s VW Shop, and upon retirement in 2002, moved to Florida where he could enjoy his favorite hobby, fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter and fishing buddy, Deborah Grimes and husband Donnie of Taneytown; grandchildren, Cody Sichert and wife Jessica, Nicole Deiseroth and husband Jeffrey; great-grandchildren, Deana Sichert, and Kyle Deiseroth; siblings, Mary Jo Krug and Dorothy Moser of Manhattan, Kansas and John Schmidler and wife Marilyn of North Platte, Nebraska; aunts, Blanche Knight and Francis Muller of Kansas City, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Jim Moser, Nancy Warner, Teresa Roberts, Susan and Shari Schmidler; and many cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by a sister, Kay Louise Schmidler; mother-in-law, Lucile Cumro; brother-in-law, Glen Moser and niece Peggy Richardson; and beloved pet dog “Buttons”.
A prayer service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore St., Taneytown with Monsignor Martin E. Feild officiating. Inurnment will be private. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
