George Thomas Nunnally, Sr.

George Thomas Nunnally, Sr., age 85, of Hampstead, Maryland, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at his home.
Born January 17, 1930 in Ferndale, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Bittner) Nunnally.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Rosemarie (Taylor) Nunnally.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.  He worked for a short time at Federal Tin Co. and the Coca-Cola Co.  He enjoyed carpentry and owned and operated his own home improvement business for most of his working career.  He was a member of Church of the Open Door in Westminster; and he and his wife enjoyed travel and camping.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Randy L. Nunnally and wife Kathy of Westminster; grandsons, G. Thomas Nunnally, III, Ethan, Randy Jr., and Jimmy Nunnally all of Westminster; daughter-in-law, Patricia Nunnally of Westminster.
He was predeceased by a son, George “Tom” Nunnally, Jr. and by brothers, Howard, Dick, and Robert Nunnally and sister, Anna Sheeder.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster with Rev. John A. Campbell officiating.  Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Gilchrist Hospice Care, 11311 McCormick Rd., Ste. 350, Hunt Valley, MD  21031 or Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, MD  21157.
