George Paul Kramer

George Paul Kramer, age 73, of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on Saturday morning, October 3, 2009 at his home surrounded by family.
Born November 30, 1935 in Evanston, Ill., he was the son of the late George G. and Maria (Sonntag) Kramer. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 47 years, Mary A. (Ridenour) Kramer.
George owned and operated successfully along with his entire family, East Coast Helicopter for the past 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Emmitsburg, the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and the F.O.E. Eagles in Waynesboro. His hobbies included growing grapes and wine making, model railroading, and driving steam locomotives. He was an avid fisherman and crabber. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Christina M. Gregory and husband John of Thurmont, MD, George F. Kramer and wife Karen of Fairfield, PA, Angela M. Fitz of Gettysburg, PA, and Michael J. Kramer and wife Angela of Burbank, California; grandchildren, Breanna C. Gregory, Collin M. Gregory, and Anthony M. Kramer; sister, Maria Cevallos and husband Dr. William Cevallos of Hamilton Square, N.J., and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Kramer and Eleanor James.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, MD, with the Rev. Stephen P. Trzecieski, C.M. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fairfield, PA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg with Rosary Prayers to begin at 8:00 PM.
