George "Ziggy" Gass

April 13, 1954 — March 21, 2014

George “Ziggy” Gass, 59, of Taneytown died peacefully Friday, March 21, 2014 at the home of his daughter near Westminster.  Born April 13, 1954 in Montclair, NJ, he was the son of Noreen Fletcher Gass of Frederick and the late George J. Gass.  He was the husband of Jeanette Chiaravalloti Gass, to whom he was married for 35 years.

Ziggy was a machinist with Diageo of North America in Relay, MD for 15 years.  He was athletic and enjoyed working out.  He also enjoyed tinkering with cars and singing.  He loved spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Amanda DiNapoli and husband Michael of Westminster, and Jenna Gass of Taneytown; son, Kevin Gass of Taneytown; sister, Maureen Smith and husband Jerry of Monrovia; brother, Michael Gass of Washington state; grandsons, Jacob and Joseph DiNapoli; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brother, Donald Gass.

A memorial service to celebrate Ziggy’s life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at Harvest Chapel, 6947 York Rd, Abbottstown, PA.
