George Francis Kramer, 52, of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at his home.
Born July 14, 1965 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Mary A. (Ridenour) Kramer and the late George Paul Kramer.
George was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Emmitsburg. He graduated a year early in 1982 from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Emmitsburg and then attended and graduated from the Frederick Community College Aviation maintenance and technology program. Always filled with a passion for knowledge of aviation and helicopters, he attended other specialized aviation training programs thru the years. He and his father owned and operated East Coast Helicopter for over 30 years. George also was passionate about steam engine trains, and even drove a locomotive alongside his Dad. He was well known for his quick wit and remarkable sense of humor. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and above all else loved his family.
Surviving in addition to his mother are sisters, Christina M. Gregory and husband John of Emmitsburg, and Angela M. Fitz of Gettysburg; brother, Michael J. Kramer and wife Angela of CA.; niece, Breanna C. Gregory; nephews, Collin M. Gregory and Anthony M. Kramer; former spouse, Karen Harbaugh Kramer; numerous uncles and cousins. Special friends: Mike Brannon, Rob Almstrom, Chuck Earley, Francis Lingg, Tracy Garber, Larry Herr; and numerous other friends; and his beloved pet dog “Rooney”.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg with Rev. Charles F. Krieg, C.M. as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Fairfield, PA. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg.
