George Alfred Conaway, Jr., 90, of Uniontown, Maryland, died peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Levindale health center in Baltimore.
Born on April 20, 1927 in Winfield, Maryland, he was the son of the late George A. Conaway, Sr. and Pauline (Biddison) Conaway. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Phyllis Ann (Beaver) Conaway.
George served his country during W.W.II in the U.S. Army in the European theater. He was a salesmen for most of his career working for various companies including, C.O. Fishpaw, Westminster Motors, and Wickes Building. He enjoyed antiques, antique shopping, Indi and NASCAR racing, and visits to Niagara Falls.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, George A. Conaway, III and Scott Lee Conaway of Hampstead; granddaughter, Aspen Renee; and great-grandson, Jackson Lee.
A funeral service will be held at 11: 00 AM on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, with Pastor Virgil Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Emmanuel (Baust) U.C.C. Cemetery in Tyrone. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of service.
