George Thomas Albaugh, age 62 of Westminster, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Carroll Hospital Center after an extended illness. He was born October 13, 1945 in Gettysburg, Pa the son of the late Harman G.M. and Katherine L. Fleagle Albaugh. He was a graduate of Glen Burnie High School and an Army veteran serving in Korea, Texas and Oklahoma in the early 60’s. Before starting his own cleaning and pressure washing business, he worked for many years in the tire industry for Firestone, Kimmel and Atlantic Wheel & Rim. He avidly followed local and national politics and enjoyed debates with friends and family.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina Albaugh Schriver of Crofton; brother and sister-in-law, James A. “Jim” and Melinda Albaugh of Westminster; nephews, Joe Albaugh of Marriottsville and James T. Albaugh of Owings Mills.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 4:00 pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown with Rev. Gerald D. Fuss officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends Saturday 2:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
