Geoffrey Colin Seargeant, 7 of Westminster died Wednesday June 11, 1008 in Westminster. Born May 26, 2001 in Portsmouth, VA he was the son of Stephany Erin Seargeant of Westminster and John Seargeant of Virginia Beach, VA.
He had completed first grade at Friendship Valley Elementary School. He was a member of Cub Scout Pact 321 out of Ascension Episcopal Church.
He attended Westminster United Methodist Church where he was active in Sunday school, children’s choir, bell choir and family ministries. He played soccer and rugby and attended Tri-Star Martial Arts Academy.
He was an environmentalist and enjoyed camping with his sister and mother. He enjoyed reading, singing, playing outside, gardening and playing computer games with his grandfather. He was teaching his sister to read and write and wanted to be an art teacher when he grew up.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Keira Seargeant of Westminster; grandparents Bill and Peg Pond of Westminster; grandmother, Loretta Seargeant of Waldorf; aunt and uncle Dan and Paij Holcomb; cousins Keith and Joshua Holcomb; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 6:30 pm Tuesday at Westminster United Methodist Church, 162 E. Main St, Westminster with Rev. Laura Easto officiating.
A graveside service will be held 10 am Wednesday at St. John’s (Leisters) Lutheran Church Cemetery.
A children’s memorial service will be held at 3 pm Saturday at the church.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Cub Scout Pact 321, c/o Joe Burns, 36 Webster St, Westminster, MD 21157, for a memorial garden at Friendship Valley Elementary, scholarships and other projects.
