Genoveva S. Chapman

Genoveva “Eva” S. Chapman, age 92, of Westminster, died on early Friday morning, May 16, 2008 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, Maryland.
Born January 18, 1916 in Bakony Oszlop, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rozalia (Gross) Speckhart. She was the wife of the late Astor Colman Chapman, who died in 2003.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Taneytown, and was active in the clothing ministry of the church.
Surviving are daughters, Sandra Ann Stachowski of Abingdon, Md., and Joan Carroll Fisher and spouse Robert Fisher of Westminster; grandchildren, Robert C. Fisher and Johnathan R. Fisher both of Westminster; sister, Teresa S. Marron of Australia, and several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by son-in-law, Thomas W. Stachowski in 2004.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 24, 2008 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Taneytown with the Reverend Msgr. Marty Feild as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown, a Christian wake service will begin at 6:00 PM.
