Gary Lee Hall, of Westminster, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, after a brief illness in Hospice Care at Northwest Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Ellen Hall, nee Ohler, his wife of 57 years. Gary was the son of the late George H. Hall, Sr. and Doris Hall nee Clark, formerly of Clarence Center, NY
Gary graduated from Williamsville High School, Williamsville, NY. He served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1964. He would graduate from the Erie County Technical School in Erie County, New York and then he would go on to work for International Business Corporation as a certified I/T Specialist for more than 30 years. He often brought cherished souvenirs home to his family to enjoy from his many travels. He was an avid hunter of deer and turkey enjoying this sport with good friends, Dan Calwell, IV., of Queenstown, MD and brother David of Jamestown, NY, as well as with many other friends. He loved playing cards twice a week, gardening, watching football and family gatherings. Gary was a gregarious, fun-loving person who touched many lives with his exuberance for living; he will be greatly missed.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Deborah Ann Calwell, nee Hall and her husband Dan M. Calwell, V. of Denton, and Sally Ann Whittington, nee Hall and her husband Daniel M. Whittington of Westminster; his six grandchildren Dan M. “Danny” Calwell, VI and his partner Brandy Edwards, Malynn R. Calwell, Olivia A. Calwell, Julia I. Calwell, Ryan D. Whittington and his wife Cara E. Whittington, nee Hunter and Carley Whittington; his two great-grandsons Dan M. “DJ” Calwell, VII and Lucas J. Calwell; his devoted companion and dog Gem; his brothers Gordon Hall and his wife Charlotte of Georgia, Glenn Hall of New York, Grant “David” Hall and his wife Nancy of New York, and his sister Darlene Schultz, nee Hall and her husband Ronald “Ron” Schultz of Florida; his sisters-in-law Marian Hall and Cindy Hall; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Deanna Lubner, nee Hall and his brothers George Hall, Jr., Geoffrey Hall, Gregory Hall, Gene Hall, and Gerald Hall.
The family will receive friends 3 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster (21157) where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to BridgingLife Hospice of Carroll County, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
