Gary Richard Crampton, age 66, of Waynesboro, PA, formerly of Frederick, MD, died on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at his home.
Born January 18, 1946 in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Luther B. Crampton, Jr. and Isabel S. (Smith) Crampton. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Vicki Lynn (Abrecht) Crampton.
Gary was a 1964 graduate of Linganore H.S. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the Waynesboro Fish and Game Club and the Blue Ridge Sportsman’s Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and loved his pet dog “Hercules” and cat “Abigail”.
Surviving in addition to his wife are siblings, Judith Fogle of Mt. Airy, Nevin Crampton of Mt. Airy, and Sharon Mercer of Mt. Pleasant; four nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by a twin brother, Jerry Crampton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with the Rev. Steven Ostendorf-Snell officiating. Interment will follow in the Grace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
