Fred W. Spangler, age 57, of Hanover, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Hanover Hospital.
Born February 8, 1954 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the husband of the late Karen Isaacs Spangler. He was the son of Arlene Clabaugh Spangler and the late Fred D. Spangler.
He owned and operated Spangler Landscaping and also worked for Ecker Lawn Care Service in Taneytown. He was a 1972 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. He was affiliated with St. Paul Lutheran Church in Harney and was a member of Harney VFW, Post 6918 and the Hanover Eagles, Aerie 1406. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving in addition to his mother are daughter, Brandi Susanne Miller of Littlestown; long-time companion, Cindy McMaster and her son, Travis McMaster of Hanover; sisters, Cindy Lou Duble of Littlestown and Tammy Lynn Spangler of Taneytown; granddaughter, Paige Miller and three nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Susan Spangler.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
