Franklin D. "Poncho" Hahn

Franklin D. “Poncho” Hahn, age 77, of Keymar, Maryland, died on Friday, June 3, 2011 at home.
Born February 19, 1934 in Keymar, Maryland, he was the son of the late Jacob E. and Edwina (Wilson) Hahn. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Flora F. (Welch) Hahn.
Poncho worked in his early years for local farms, several feed mills, and later as a part time driver for Southern States and Donald Six Co. He retired in 1996, after 43 years as a heavy equipment operator for Lehigh Cement Co. in Union Bridge. He loved working and cleaning old cars, gardening, blue grass and country music, and especially spending time at home with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Dale L. Hahn and wife Pat of Mifflin, PA, Gail K. Roop and husband Irvin of Union Bridge, Diane L. Hahn and fiancée George Funt of Waynesboro, PA, Steve M. Hahn and wife Linda of Taneytown, Vicki A. Hahn of Union Bridge, and Christopher A. Hahn, Sr. of Keymar; siblings, Richard Hahn and wife Janice of Keymar, Virginia Sanders and husband Sonny of Hanover, PA, Mary Eyler of PA, Joseph Hahn and wife Janet of Hanover, PA, Paul Hahn and wife Bonnie of New Windsor, and Deborah Bitzel and husband Edward of Taneytown.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Franklin “Denny” Hahn, and brothers, James and Thomas Hahn.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with Pastor Eric Crisp officiating. Interment will follow in Haugh’s Church Cemetery in Ladiesburg, MD. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM and on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
