Francis Edward “Frank” Pratt, 79, of Taneytown, died peacefully Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Carroll Lutheran Health Care Center in Westminster. Born July 5, 1933 in Irvington, NJ, he was the son of the late June Yafchak Brys. He was the husband of Roberta “Bobbie” Diebold Pratt, his wife of 45 years.
Frank had been a manager in retail sales with Brooks Brothers Clothiers and the Joseph A. Bank Co. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan. He loved being at the beach and also enjoyed woodcarving. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Laura Gallahan and husband, Brian, of Damascus; son Philip Pratt and wife, Amanda, of Manasquan, NJ; sister, Eva Schwarz and husband, Howard, of Moorestown, NJ; grandchildren, Megan and Nick Gallahan, and Robert and Charlie Pratt; nieces, Stephanie Morrison and husband, Randy, of Shamong, NJ, and Heide Kazmierski and husband, Mark, of Medford, NJ; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD, with Monsignor Martin E. Feild as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass.
