Francis “Frank” E. Krietz, age 80, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died on Friday, July 4, 2008 at his home.
Born in Thurmont, he was the son of the late Cecil and Lottie (Shorb) Krietz.
He was predeceased by his wife Josephine H. (Topper) Krietz on July 14, 2000.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Emmitsburg, MD. Mr. Krietz was employed as a cook at Mt. St. Mary’s for many years, and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.
Surviving are children and spouses, Elizabeth and Timothy Jacobson of Emmitsburg, Patricia and Michael Trout of Thurmont, Barbara and George Beavers of Emmitsburg, Michael and Toshi Krietz of Gaithersburg, Anthony and Carol Krietz of Emmitsburg, Donald and Linda Krietz of Ortanna, Pa., Paul and Debra Krietz of Emmitsburg, Cecil and Nancy Krietz of Cascade, Darlene and Gregory Medve of Emmitsburg, and Melissa and Barry Gladhill of Cascade.
Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by siblings, Marie Sharer, Eugene Krietz, Rose Ridenour, Florence Knott, Cecil “Bud” Krietz, and Theresa Lingg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 8th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, with the Rev. Michael J. Kennedy, C.M. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the New St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Emmitsburg. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, where Rosary Prayers will be recited at 8:00 PM.
