Francis “Frank” Clay Kennedy, age 93 of Stuarts Draft, VA, formerly of Westminster, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, VA after a brief illness. He was born May 29, 1915 in Baltimore County, MD, the son of the late Eugene S. and Lottie E. Davis Kennedy. He grew up in Baltimore City and spent his childhood summers in Carroll County. He was the husband of the late Anna Elizabeth Wilson Kennedy who died in 1985. He was a graduate of St. Paul’s School in Baltimore and a retired engineering assistant for the telephone company.
He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Saville of Westminster, Nancy Bader of Hanover, PA and Patricia L. and David Berry of Waynesboro, VA; grandchildren, Kimberly Zamostny, Misti Zimmerman, Heather Helm, Kirk Davis, Sean Davis, Ryan Davis, Chantel Lucio, Rhiannon Horsley and Holly Boyles; great grandchildren, Howard Spencer III, Taylor Vitt, Garrett Zimmerman, Morgan Zamostny, Noelle Zimmerman, Xander Lucio, Hazel Helm and future baby girl Horsley.
He was predeceased by his brother, Eugene S. Kennedy, Jr. and his grandson, Howard “Buddy” L. Spencer, Jr.
A funeral service will be held Friday, 11:00 A.M. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Rev. Richard K. Shamer officiating. Interment will follow in Hampstead Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
