Francis S. Goulden, age 88 of Salisbury, MD formerly of Emmitsburg died Thursday May 24, 2012 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. He was born February 27, 1924 in Gettysburg, PA, son of the late Francis and Frances Sprankle Goulden. He was the husband of the late Theresa Grace Wachter Goulden. He was a U.S. Marine and served during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 121 in Emmitsburg, MD. He worked as an engineer at the Provincial House in Emmitsburg.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Deborah Lavone Goulden of Salisbury, MD; daughter and son-in-law, Debra Goulden and Craig Scardaville of Parlin, NJ; grandchildren, Franz II and Melanie Muller of Stewartstown, PA and Kevin Brocious of Baltimore; great grandson, Franz Muller III.
He was predeceased by his brother, Leo Goulden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul Street, Emmitsburg with Rev. John Holliday, C.M. as celebrant. Interment will follow in New St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main Street, Emmitsburg with a prayer service at 8:00 pm.
