Frances Wivell

August 30, 1945 — March 22, 2015

Frances Elizabeth “Tood” Wivell, 69, of Baltimore, Maryland died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at her residence.  Born August 30, 1945 in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late J. Norbert and Fannie Agnes (Bollinger) Wivell, Sr.

Frances loved visiting with her family.  She had many pictures of family members and took pride in knowing all of her siblings’ birthdays, which was amazing in light of her disability.  She loved playing cards and enjoyed Christmas cookies and candy.  Frances was an avid Elvis Presley fan.

Surviving are sisters, R. Lucille Rowland and husband Raymond of Rouzerville, PA, and Bernadette Muller of Hanover, PA; brothers, James N. Wivell, Jr. and wife Delores of Thurmont, Vincent Wivell and wife Mary of Hanover, PA, Francis Wivell of Aspers, PA, Stanley Wivell and wife Darlene of Thurmont, and Allen Wivell and wife Stephanie of Fairfield, PA; and many nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind special friend, Barbara, who helped her like a sister throughout her life.  Frances’ family wishes to thank her caregivers, Debbie and Betty, for all the love and care they gave her.  She was predeceased by sisters, Emma Stambaugh and Mary Haines; and by brother, Glenn Wivell.

A memorial service to celebrate Frances, life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St, Emmitsburg, MD with the Rev. Charles F. Kreig, C.M. officiating.  Inurnment will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
