Frances Regina Seltzer, age 64, of Thurmont, Maryland, died on Friday, evening April 4, 2008 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Maryland.
Born August 9, 1943 in Emmitsburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Alice Regina (Miller) Eyler. She was the wife of 30 years to Thomas William Seltzer, Sr., to whom she was married on May 20, 1977.
She was a member of St. Anthony Shrine Parish in Emmitsburg, Md., and was a 1962 graduate of Emmitsburg High School. Frances worked at the Mount Saint Mary’s University for over twenty years, retiring from food services in 1998. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, cooking, baking, and BINGO.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter and fiancée, Michelle and Ron Springer of Thurmont; step-daughters and spouses, Judy and David Ridenour of Thurmont, Karen and James Davis of Foxville, Md., Kim and Eddie Tackett of Indiana; step-son and spouse, Tom Jr. and Bonnie Seltzer of Fairfield, Pa.; brothers, Sam Eyler and Clifford Eyler both of Emmitsburg, Joe and John Eyler both of Fairfield, Pa.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Natasha Seltzer, Madison Springer, Krystal Stull, Kassondra Topper, Jacklyn Seltzer, Josh Tackett, and Kyle Tackett, great-grandchildren, Layne and Shaymus Stull; special friends, Hattie and Dan Shindledecker of Thurmont, and beloved pet dogs, Daisy and Sparky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at St. Anthony Shrine Parish, 16150 St. Anthony Rd., Emmitsburg, Md., with the Rev. David W. Shaum celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, where Rosary Prayers will be recited at 8:00 PM.
Pallbearers will be Ron Springer, James Davis, David Ridenour, Tom Seltzer, Jr., Lynn Miller, Jr., and Jerry Lee Henning.
