Frances "Bonnie" Y. Lingg

Frances “Bonnie” Yvonne Lingg, age 69, of Emmitsburg went to her eternal rest with God on Monday, August 31, 2009 at the St. Catherine’s Nursing Center in Emmitsburg. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Francis “Frank” Joseph Lingg.
Born September 28, 1939 in Emmitsburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Agnes A. (Wivell) Topper.
She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Emmitsburg, and a member of the Sodality. She attended grade school at St. Euphemia’s and high school at St. Joseph’s High both in Emmitsburg, then went on to complete nurses training at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, where she graduated and obtained her R.N. license in Nursing. Bonnie worked for three years at the Gettysburg Hospital, then went on to work as a nursing supervisor at the Villa St. Michael in Emmitsburg for almost 30 years, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed attending Little League games for 32 years, while her husband volunteered as the coach for the “Dodger’s” team. She loved spending time with and watching both her children and in later years her grandchildren participating in sporting events. Bonnie enjoyed planting and tending flower gardens, hanging plants and potted plants; reading; cross-word puzzles and word books. Over the years she was a caretaker to many family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Steven J. Lingg and wife Joanne, Angela J. Myers and husband Tony, Susan A. Joy and husband Wade, and Thomas F. Lingg and wife Barbara all of Emmitsburg, Md; siblings, Jim Topper and wife Alma of Kentucky, Jean Orndorff and husband Larry of Baltimore, Dianna Papini and husband Ken of Rockville, and Pam Cool and husband Gary of Arizona; a brother-in-law, Paul D. Lingg of Hanover, PA; grandchildren, Aleia and Amanda Myers, Mark Lingg, Rachel and Sarah Lingg, Hailey and Mason Joy; great-grandson, Landon Paul Daniel. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by siblings, Loretta M. Sellman, Dorothy A. Standbach and Raymond L. Topper.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St. Emmitsburg, MD, with the Rev. Vincent O’Malley, C.M. as celebrant, Rev. Stephen Trzecieski, C.M. as homilist, and Rev. Paul M. Murphy, C.M. as leading the Rosary. Interment will follow in the New St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Emmitsburg. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:15 AM until the time of service at the church, where Rosary prayers will begin around 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Daughter’s of Charity Retirement Fund, 333 S. Seton Ave., Emmitsburg, MD, 21727, or to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St. Emmitsburg, MD, 21727.
Arrangements are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
